DENVER — Governor Polis issued an Executive Order amending and extending the current COVID-19 disaster declaration. The disaster declaration allows agencies to continue to access state and federal funding for recovery efforts, to rapidly respond to changes in the public health environment, and to support the healthcare system to remain appropriately staffed and prepared to respond to public health. The disaster declaration refocuses the State’s efforts on COVID-19 recovery and ends the disaster declaration for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), influenza, and other respiratory illnesses.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Anthony Nathaniel Baca to a vacancy on the 6th Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the resignation of the Honorable Todd. P. Norvell and is effective January 14, 2023.
DENVER - The Polis Administration released the biannual progress report on the Reduction Roadmap which summarizes key steps taken during the past six months to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) and other air pollution. These actions included important progress on clean energy plans by electric utilities, successful implementation of a statewide free transit fare grant program, new funding to construct electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along major Colorado roads, highways and in state parks, and completion of a key environmental justice task force report.
DENVER - The state of Colorado, in partnership with the City of Denver and local non-profits, has been working tirelessly to address the influx of migrants traveling to the state. About 70% of the migrants arriving in Denver don't have Colorado as a final destination and due to weather and workforce shortage, they have been experiencing transportation cancellations. In order to facilitate the safe and voluntary transit of people to their desired destination, the state is working with culturally competent navigators to ensure that each individual is voluntarily making their own travel decision.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the Division of Motor Vehicles announced the $29 Keep Colorado Wild state parks pass is now available to save Coloradans money with their 2023 vehicle registrations, building upon the Polis administration’s work to save Coloradans money and support Colorado’s world-class outdoors.
DENVER - State of Colorado government offices in the Denver and surrounding suburban counties will open to the public at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29th, due to extreme weather conditions. There will be a 2-hour delay in start times for state employees to arrive at work safely.
CONIFER - The Polis administration announced new funding for wildlife mitigation projects across Colorado. Gov. Polis signed a new bipartisan law in Summit County this summer SB22-151, the Safe Passage for Colorado Wildlife and Motorists, that authorizes general funds to be used for wildlife mitigation projects. Under the Polis administration, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), and Colorado Wildlife and Transportation Alliance (CWTA) have worked together to identify seven projects that will provide safe road crossings for wildlife connectivity and reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions.
