DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (OREC) of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced 12 new recipients of the Colorado State Outdoor Recreation grant across the state. These grants will promote career development, hiring efforts and marketing in Colorado’s thriving outdoor recreation sector and have been awarded to organizations from Craig to Ridgway and Arvada to Colorado City.

BOULDER - Today, Governor Polis welcomed bipartisan governors from Western states to Colorado for the start of the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) annual meeting held this year in Boulder. As WGA Chair, Governor Polis will highlight the bold and innovative progress of his Chair Initiative, The Heat Beneath Our Feet, in expanding geothermal energy research and exploration across the West. Governor Polis’s term as WGA Chair concludes at the end of the gathering.

DENVER – The Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) released its quarterly economic forecast today showing that Colorado’s robust labor market and strong consumer demand continue to power Colorado’s strong economy and is forecasted to continue to outpace the nation.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Labor (CDLE) announced that Colorado’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in the month of May at 2.8%. Colorado’s economy remains strong under the Polis administration as the unemployment rate remains below 3% for an entire year and well below the national average of 3.7%.
DENVER - Today, Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera announced that the Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI), housed within the Office of Lt. Governor Primavera and dedicated to improving digital access, health equity, and technology throughout the state, has been named a founding member of CancerX, a public-private partnership to advance cancer innovation in the U.S. Announced by the White House Cancer Moonshot in February, CancerX will support the new national goals to “cut the death rate from cancer by at least 50% over the next 25 years and improve the experience of people and their families living with and surviving cancer.”
DENVER - Building upon commitments to create an economy that works for all, Governor Jared Polis highlighted his administration’s implementation of “The Big Blur,” which argues for the need to erase the dividing line between high school, college, and career training and to open the opportunity for all students.
