DENVER - Today, the Polis administration released the first on-its-kind Climate Preparedness Roadmap that identifies ways Colorado can better understand, prepare for, and adapt to the impacts of climate change, and outlines actions the administration will take to protect Colorado’s future. The report looks at risks facing Colorado specifically and how the impacts of climate change will affect the future of the state.
DENVER — Serve Colorado, part of the Office of Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera and which oversees Colorado’s AmeriCorps programming, has won the 2023 America’s Service Commission (ASC) Innovation Award in the category Innovation in Partnerships. ASC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing and promoting the 52 state service commissions across the United States and territories, with the mission to lead and elevate the state service network. The ASC Innovation Awards celebrates efforts that redefine the landscape of public service and community engagement. BRECKENRIDGE - Today, at Colorado Mountain College’s Breckenridge campus, Governor Polis discussed the property tax relief provided to Coloradans during the 74th General Assembly’s special session and highlighted the importance of action from local governments to provide even further relief for hardworking Coloradans.
AURORA - Today, Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera toured the UCHealth Long COVID Multidisciplinary Clinic on the CU Anschutz campus and hosted a roundtable discussion on Long COVID, its impact, and ways to better address the impacts. The discussion also focused on strategies to continue to build partnerships between the state, health care providers, advocates, academic institutions, and others that will advance research efforts and further position Colorado as a leader in this initiative. Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera serves as the Director of the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care (OSPMHC), which is leading the state’s efforts to research the long term effects of COVID-19.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Timothy J. Lane to the Gilpin County Court in the 1st Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the resignation of the Honorable David Taylor and is effective immediately.
DENVER - Last week, the legislature completed a special session that delivered real property tax relief for Coloradans. During the special legislative session, Governor Polis, in partnership with the legislature, took action, passing a new law to reduce property tax valuations by $55,000 per home and reducing residential assessment rates to 6.7% across the state, saving Coloradans money.
ARVADA - Today, Governor Polis signed new laws passed by the state legislature from the 74th General Assembly’s special session. These new laws will help hardworking Coloradans, ensure that thousands of Colorado children have access to the food they need to succeed, and address long-term property tax challenges.
